Excellence Academy – a brand of Speakers Excellence Deutschland GmbH
Excellence Academy strives to make its website as accessible as possible within technical capabilities and in alignment with applicable standards such as the Barrier-Free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0), even though the service is offered exclusively to business customers (B2B) and therefore, under current legal provisions, does not fall directly under the Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG).
- General Description of the Service
Excellence Academy is an online platform for booking and conducting business-related training, courses, and digital learning offers. The content is intended exclusively for companies, organizations, and public institutions. Trainers, coaches, and experts can list their online courses on the platform, provided they operate their own business under §14 BGB. Therefore, listings are only possible for commercial providers.
- Usage Explanation
The website provides a structured overview of course offerings and trainer profiles. Bookings are made via integrated forms. The website is responsive and optimized for use on mobile devices.
- Accessibility Status
The website is continuously being developed. Although there is no legal obligation under the BFSG, we follow the requirements of BITV 2.0 and gradually implement measures to improve accessibility
Evaluation Method:
Accessibility is currently assessed through internal self-evaluation based on the criteria of BITV 2.0.
Measures Implemented So Far:
- Structured HTML markup and clear navigation logic
- Mobile optimization and responsive design
- Text alternatives for essential images
- Browser-based contrast and zoom functionality
Planned Optimizations:
- Optimization of color contrast for accessibility
- Addition of missing alternative text for images
- Non-Accessible Content
The following areas are currently still limited in accessibility:
- Some modules (e.g., dropdowns, filter functions) are not fully operable via keyboard. Technical adjustments are complex.
- Some images lack descriptive alternative text. These will be added gradually due to the high post-processing effort.
- Improvement of keyboard operability for all interactive modules
- Content from external booking systems is beyond our control. We are in contact with the providers to encourage improvements.
- We are continuously working to improve the accessibility of these areas—within the economic proportionality of a B2B portal.
